Boat Museum

The National Waterways Museum is situated on the banks of the Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal. There are many indoor displays, historic buildings and boat trips.

Designed by Thomas Telford, under the direction of William Jessop, the docks at Ellesmere Port were still in use up to the 1950s. You can walk around the locks, docks and warehouses, and visit the forge, stables and workers cottages.

There are many areas of this museum for which I do not have any images; when I revisit in 2014 I will add addition/better ones!
